Executive Management
Magnus Hjern
President and Chief Executive Officer
Promoted to CEO in 2008, Magnus joined Mitrionics as Vice President, Product & Engineering and COO. He has more than 20 years of world-class quality engineering experience in systems companies. Prior to Mitrionics, Magnus was Director and Head of Product Configuration at Sony Ericsson, a leader in the international mobile phone industry where he led a team of 130 employees in Product Development. Before that, he built the global customer customization organization and led the global GSM Product Management team at Ericsson AB. Prior to Ericsson, Magnus held various engineering and engineering management positions within Telia, both in system design and software engineering. As CEO, Magnus will lead the transformation of Mitrionics from a processor technology leader to a product leader in the Hybrid Computing market. He received his M.Sc. EE in Telecommunications from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden in 1987.
Mike Calise
Executive Vice President and US General Manager
Mike has 25 years of experience in the semiconductor and systems industry. He joined Mitrionics in 2007 and is the head of Global Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Prior to Mitrionics, Mike was President of ClearSpeed, an HPC leader in low power floating-point accelerators. He built the company’s global customer facing organization and US operation from inception through a successful initial public offering. He exited the company in 2006 during its peak valuation to help incubate start-up Hybrid Computing with a focus on FPGA acceleration. Mike has held various sales, marketing and senior management positions for companies including Intel Corporation, Benchmarq Microelectronics (Texas Instruments), Catalyst Semiconductor, start-up SOC IP providers, Palmchip and Improv Systems. He received his B.S.E.E. from University of Buffalo, New York in 1983, and continues developmental studies at Stanford University.
Stefan Möhl
Co-founder and Chief Science Officer
In early 2001, Stefan Möhl Co-founded Mitrionics. He devised the principles for the Mitrion Virtual Processor (MVP) architecture and is the creator of the parallel programming language Mitrion-C. Prior to founding Mitrionics, Stefan co-founded e-commerce venture ShopSense in 1998; a search-engine for best price and quality of products available through the Internet. The experiences Stefan gained at ShopSense proved invaluable as he drove Mitrionics through its formative years. Stefan was a founding member of the OpenFPGA and OpenAccelerator organizations. He sat on the OpenFPGA steering committee during its first years and still sits on the financial board. He is a well known evangelist and expert HPC industry technical spokesperson. Stefan studied at Lund University, Sweden, where he majored in Philosophy, focusing on the Philosophy of Language, with extensive studies in Computer Science, Linguistics and Psychology.
Robert Wall
Director of Sales
Robert Wall is the Director of Sales at Mitrionics, after joining the company in 2007. Based in Sweden, he is Australian by birth and has lived in Australia, England, Switzerland, USA and Austria. Robert has a Bachelor of International Business degree from Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane), specializing in Asian studies. He has worked as Senior Business Analyst in leading financial institutions such as AMP Society, First National Bank of Chicago, Mercury Asset Management, SG Warburg and Deutsche Bank. His experience covers acquisition purchasing consolidation, information migration, and cross currency transaction optimization.
